To Nelson and back

Well we had a great time in Nelson.
We arrived, a la Rocky Horror picture style, late at night in the rain and fog to the Blaylock's Mansion B&B on Friday night.

We stayed in the presidential suite (no I didn't make up the name that's really what they call it)

In the morning we toured the grounds and played a little pool. I lost, so what.

Then we headed for Nelson. It rained non-stop all day. Eventually we got a little chilled so we popped into Baba's for some Indian food.

What you will find here is a multitude of artists. Weavers, glass blowers, metal worker and the list goes on.
We stopped at the broom makers shop.

The brooms here are absolutely gorgeous!
You've probably seen one of these brooms before in the movies.
Look for one supporting the rear end of Nicole Kidman in the near future.

We didn't stop for long because we wanted to head for home and we could see the weather was getting a little scary!

and as we headed out of Creston into the pass things just got worse.

This was about 4:30 pm.

We finally made it home around 8 to find clean tired doggies, thank you kind friends. No trouble at the border but we were prepared, isn't that always the way...Oh well.

UP NEXT...
Dad 'The East Coast Blog Champion' and Holly 'The Balcony Garden Goddess' visit Spokane!
Will we ever get the dirt in the vegetable garden???
There's only one thing to do... STAY TUNED!

STAY TUNED FOR OUR TRIP TO NELSON...

Giant Labs have Spokanites running for the hills. Many flee to Canada

Desktop Jungle

time to say so long to that good ole G4
DESK1

Since I spend 90% of my time looking at one of these things I thought it might be appropriate to talk about my desktop garden. Right now I am growing a G5 as the G4 withers and dies off. Occasionally scanning for old time sake, fan blowing apps crashing takes me back.... to last Friday.

My organic paper work wall, 100% bio degradable, is coming along nicley. I can almost eat my microwave eggs and drink tea in complete privacy. I think that the key to a good paperwork wall is the balancing the verticle file holders with stuff that is just piled on your desk. I think it creates a stabilty you just don't get from piles alone. Plus the air circulation is better.

the fence goes up!

While some of us have cute little balconies in their trendy Seattle condos for planting veggies others have a 12x40 plot of land. Some of us also have 3 big dogs that would like to poop on the vegetables so, we had to build a fence.

Richie built a cute little gate and it even works!
