Wise Words and Good Food

It's the end of January, did you try something new this month?
I suggest the latest offering from The Gluten Free Goddess.
Go ahead see what it's like to be Gluten Free! I'd like to add this to what Karina says in her post, ladies please don't do this you are better than that! (note to reader, skip the whole Tyra thing and find the 'coffee girls')

For your viewing pleasure...here's a picture of my new shoes and my desk at work, what a mess!

Oh while I'm giving you random things, here's a link that makes me sort of home sick. Thanks to Francine for Tete a claques (roughly translated as 'buttheads') Here's an explaination of the show incase you're interested from CBC radio scroll down to "Tete a claques"

Thinking of Spring and my old pal Jack

This picture is of Jack, the Border Collie that came to live with me for a year, and Richard, looking tough :)

I was just thinking about Jack and I love this photo so I thought I'd share it with you.

thinking of Jack

Jack now lives with Elizabeth and is living a very Border Collie friendly life.

Going Pro

Yesterday I attended the U.S. Figure Skating Women's Championships.

Tomorrow I expect a call from ESPN asking me to be their official photographer. No one can capture the sport like this , they'll say.
We've never thought about making the skaters look awkward and insignificant.

It's clear now that whatever success in photography I have will be the sole responsibility of the camera I am using.

Anyway, if you haven't caught the molasses thick sarcasm yet, let me offer up these beauties for your viewing pleasure. If you're looking for crisp emotion, athletic poise and unfiltered determination then go somewhere else.

Here is a selection of my very best, enjoy!

Since I've been thinking about the kitties lately here are some snaps of Marta.
Come and visit us and she'll make you feel loved. We'll just feed you and make sure you get plenty of dog hair on your clothes.

Baby Steps

I climbed back on to the craft saddle today but it was the kiddy theme park version where the horses just go around and around. I had this project to finish and I needed to make it really easy for myself but while I was making it new ideas kept popping in to my head. This is a very good sign – that quiet spark of creativity that was being overrun by stress before the holiday is gradually gaining volume and I am so glad because boy do I have some major projects on the horizon. While those things wait in the wings here are some snaps of my doggy crate cover. It has 5 panels. The 2 sides are brown with the flower motif appliqued with some creative sewing maching stiching, the top and end pieces are solid white and blue with no motifs. It's made to match my uncle's decor in the room where the dog crate lives. I really won't know if it fits design wise or physically until he tries it – I'm not to great with precise measurement so I'll be happy if it sort of fits OK.

I made it out of felt (again to aid with the easy aspect of this project). I kept it simple and sort of modern. I'd love to hear what you think about the look of this. I usually over embellish and add too much color because that's what I like but I'd be interested to know if it looks too simple or not. Anyway, it's good to be back.
