scenes from my weekend

I had planned to start a daily art practice this week but it didn't happen. I'm not feeling too bad about it because I feel like right now, this weekend, there there was creativity all around me. Hope your weekend was just as nice.

Holly's Quilt

I made this baby quilt for my little sister Holly. She's getting ready to have her first baby this August and she just had a birthday – what better reason to make a quilt!

I used some of Anna Maria Horner's fabric from her new line Loulouthi for the patchwork "LOVE" side. It seemed so perfectly suited for that. I also love that I could used some of Anna's "hugs & kisses" print for the binding. It's like being wrapped in hugs and kisses – as all babies should.

The other side incorporates a beautiful hand printed piece of fabric from Ink & Spindle that reminded me of France, not that I've been there but my sister has, and I know it's a special place for her.
